Ms. Weed focuses on defending clients charged with traffic, misdemeanor, and felony criminal offenses throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. She has experience trying criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor offenses to high-level felonies and gives the same level of commitment and attention to detail to each case.
Prior to joining The Toney Law Firm, Kenet worked for Cabrini Green Legal Aid drafting petitions to expunge and seal prior arrests and convictions. She enjoyed helping people who have been caught up in the legal system in the past, so they can have a fresh start moving forward with their lives. Her previous legal experience additionally includes the St. Joseph County Public Defender’s Office, where she worked with clients to clear their traffic records and get their licenses reinstated, as well as the Cook County Public Defender’s Office at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse at 26th and California as a summer law clerk. In law school, she additionally had the opportunity to intern with the office of the prosecutor in South Bend, Indiana, to gain a broader understanding of the other side of the criminal legal system in order to better defend her clients in the future.
Kenet is a graduate of the Notre Dame Law School where she was chosen to be on the Moot Court Trial Team. She attended undergrad at Gonzaga University where she graduated Cum Laude with a dual major in Sociology and Criminal Justice. She is a former rower who loves all Seattle sports.
